Here are a handful of our most notable females on our ranch. These females come from powerful lines that we have incorporated into our herd from other established breeders in Canada and the U.S. The lines can be traced back to Buck Lake Ranch, Basin Angus, Peakdot, Sandy Creek Ranch, as well as others. Each animal is a product of our careful selection of A.I. sires and natural sires. We aim to improve our herd each year by selecting top A.I. sires and using many of our own high caliber bulls.
Below are notable females you will be able to view our flush certificates. Currently we have embryos available through Bova-Tech which are an RLS Forever Payback 3H and GAR Home Town cross. If you are interested in these embryos contact us or Dr. Ortega directly. His contact information can be found on the sheet attached.
201X has been designated an Elite Dam by the Canadian Angus Association since 2016 and has produced 10/10 calves. She is an incredibly fertile and maternal cow.
1B has been designated a Premier Dam by the Canadian Angus Association since 2021 and has produced 6/6 calves. 1B was successfully A.I.ed 4 years in a row. She continues to produce healthy, well rounded calves out of our home bulls being one of the first cows to calve nearly every year.
27B has been designated a Premier Dam by the Canadian Angus Association since 2022 and has produced 6/6 calves. 27B is a very well rounded animal and produces calves of equal or greater caliber each year.
56C consistently produces powerful calves with weights in the top 10% of our herd at weaning time. All of her offspring grow into sound, large bodied animals with incredible REA. All of her offspring has REA EPDs in the top 5% of the breed.
11E is one of 3 cows in our herd we chose to collect embryos from in 2018. She is a performance cow with many of her growth and carcass EPDs in the top 15% of the breed. She has consistently produced calves that have been in the top 5% for WW, YW, and Marbling remaining well rounded in all other areas.
It's not often we pick favourites, but 13E comes pretty close. In 2018 she produced ## embryos and then raised her own natural set of twins the following year showing us that she is a fertility power house. 13E and all of her offspring are among some of the most impressive cattle in Canada. She is a VAR Discovery female and all of her weight EPDs are in the top 1% of the breed, and all of her carcass traits are in the top 15% or higher. She is a true performance animal.
30E was the final of the 3 cows flushed for Embryos in 2018. 30E is also a VAR Discovery female. Her dam and 13E's dam are twin sisters, therefore, they share many of the same qualities and produce calves in the same caliber. All of 30E's offspring are in the top 15% or higher of the entire Angus breed for all of their growth and carcass traits. Her genetics will add power and performance to any herd.
44E is a well balance, maternal cow that produces top tier calves each year. Every year her calves are in the top 10% of our herd for their weights and in the top 10% for weight and carcass EPDs. She is very fertile and has caught to our AI program every year. 44E puts all she has into her calves each year but is still able to maintain herself and is one of the largest cows in our herd.
43F is a feminine, fertile female with impressive growth traits and has produced one of our females (18H) with some of the most impressive growth and gain characteristics in our herd. She is from our line of Patti Queen cattle that have historically produced large, fast growing and gaining offspring.
10G is a powerful female. She has tremendous growth and carcass EPDs, in the top 15% of the breed for all of her carcass traits, and top 2% of the breed for her growth traits. This was reflected in her first bull calf (RLS 76J). Her bull calf is our most valuable yearling bull out of entirely home-raised animals. His EPDs are comparable to those of his AI'd herd mates. He weaned at 706 pounds at 201 days old without any form of supplemental feeding in a drought year.
21G is the picture of fertility, she has only had one calf so far but her EPD numbers have been reflected by her being one of the first of our heifers to calve last year. She has the impressive growth, gain and fertility characteristics of our Patti Queen line with added superior carcass characteristics from her father K C F Bennett Therock A473.
3H is one of RLS 13E and E W A Peyton 642 embryo heifer calves Rafter Lazy S has produced. She is an all around incredibly impressive animal. She is in the top 1% for her growth characteristics and top 8% (or more) for her carcass traits. She is currently in a facility having embryo's extracted and we are excited to continue improving and expanding our Forever Lady line.
Currently 3H has embryos that are for sale at Bova-Tech, the embryos are RLS 3H and GAR Home Town cross.
5H is a true power house of a female. She is in the top 1% in her weight and almost all of her carcass traits (4% for marbling). She has superior fertility and calving ease making her an incredible female to add power, femininity and quality into a herd. We look forward to seeing her first calf this year. 5H is another one of our RLS 13E and E W A Peyton 642 embryos.
6H is also a RLS 13E and E W A Peyton 642 embryo. She is much like her sisters with powerful growth EPDs and impressive carcass EPDs.
12H is a grand-daughter of our Premier Dam RLS 1B. She is from a long line of fertile power houses that are among the first to calve. 12H sports calving ease without compromising her incredible growth EPDs and carcass EPDs.
18H is from the Patti Queen line which is notable for their incredible growth. She has the highest milk EPD in our entire herd (+41) and is a very docile cow. We are very excited to see how quickly 18H's calves grow!
36H is from the Enchantress Jade line and sports the large frame of her mother mother (RLS 56C). She has incredible growth and carcass EPDs.
45H is a spectacular combination of remarkable calving ease, powerful growth, and impressive carcass EPDs. She is docile and comes from an incredibly fertile line of cattle. Her mother (BLKL 929A) mothered several of the bulls we have used on our Purebreds throughout the years.
46H is a powerful female out of the "Boss" cow of our herd (BKLK 113X). She sports impressive growth and carcass without skimping on calving ease. Her mother has produced several herd building females that are still in our herd today, 46H is no different.
